City Council Members
The City of Bayard is governed by the Mayor and City Council form of government. The mayor, is elected to a four-year term, is a non-voting member of the Bayard City Council. The six-member Council also is elected to a four-year term and decides all policies for the City of Bayard.
The Mayor and Council meet monthly (the second Tuesday of the month) at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 445 Main Street. The official proceedings of all regular, special, and emergency meetings of the Mayor and City Council are published in the Bayard Transcript, and posted online by clicking here.

Notice is hereby given of Public Meetings of the following City of Bayard Committees:
The following City of Bayard Committees will meet in the Bayard Council Chambers, 445 Main Street on the following dates: Parks/Golf Committee will meet at 6:00 P.M., on September 6, 2010; Street & Utilities Committee will meet at 6:00 P.M., on September 7, 2010; Chimney Rock Villa Committee will meet at 6:00 P.M., on September 13, 2010; Police Committee will meet at 6:00 P.M., on September 20, 2010; City Office & Budget will meet at 6:00 P.M., on September 21, 2010.
The Bayard Library Board will meet at 12:30 P.M., on September 10, 2010 at the Bayard Public Library, 509 Avenue A.
